Means of Development

Trained Adult

At Srushti Montessori, our methodology is rooted in the Montessori philosophy, providing children with carefully crafted activities that cater to their developmental needs and foster independence, confidence, and a love for learning.

Exercise of Practical Life

Exercise of Practical Life

Practical Life Activities are everyday tasks that help children develop fine motor skills, concentration, and a sense of responsibility. These include self-care, caring for the environment, and social behaviors, such as buttoning a shirt, peeling vegetables, sewing, polishing, and greeting others. These activities empower children to achieve independence and nurture their ability to care for themselves and their surroundings.

Sensorial Activities

Sensorial Activities

“The senses, being explorers of the world, open the ways to knowledge.” – Dr. Maria Montessori.

Children absorb impressions from their environment through their senses, enabling growth and adaptation. Sensorial activities utilize scientifically designed materials to refine specific qualities like size, shape, color, texture, smell, and taste. These activities enhance a child’s consciousness and pave the way for intelligent exploration and abstraction.

Language Activities

Language Activities

Language development happens naturally in an environment where language is used meaningfully. Montessori language activities focus on spoken language, vocabulary enrichment, pronunciation, and preparation for written language. Phonetic activities make children conscious of the structure of spoken language, enhancing their ability to express thoughts confidently and effectively.

Arithmetic Activities

Arithmetic Activities

Montessori classrooms introduce arithmetic through a methodical approach, starting with quantities and numbers before progressing to symbols. Children explore concepts such as numeration, place value, fractions, and basic operations like addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using concrete materials. This journey from concrete experiences to abstract calculations builds a solid foundation for mathematical understanding.

Cultural Activities

Cultural Activities

Cultural education completes a child’s holistic development by introducing them to geography, history, botany, zoology, art, and music. Children explore their place in the world through geography and understand evolution through history. Daily activities like tracking the weather and changing the calendar establish time concepts. Science lessons reveal the structure and function of living and non-living things.

Cultural activities also celebrate diversity, introducing children to global traditions, flags, foods, and music while honoring Indian traditions and festivals. This broadens their understanding of the world and fosters respect and appreciation for different cultures.
